Privacy Issues & Activation

Two topics here that need to be discussed, one in regards to a post made at vBulletin.com (of which Chen did his best to clear up) and the recent troubles with activation.

Privacy Issues:

I would like to make it clear to all vBulletinTemplates members that vBT and its staff does not, will not, and never will ask for your license information. We do not see your real name, address, or any other personal information about you at anytime, before or after becoming a licensed member of the vBT forums.

vBT and its staff only sees the information you provide us with, which is your username, your e-mail address, and your IP (which is used soley for statistics and for banning, if it comes to it). We do not force you to enter any other information about yourself and never will. All information provided beyond what is normally asked for when registering at a forum is provided at your own discretion.

When you become a registered member here at vBT, we do not even receive an e-mail stating you are now registered, you are either registered or your not. We do not see your license number, we do not see your password, nor do we have any interest in it.

Please understand while we use the vBulletin license system to prevent unlicensed users from accessing our downloads, it is done via a script which accesses the DB and checks, we CANNOT see this database. Jelsoft does not share your information with us, nor do we ask them to or for it.

I would hope this will clear up and privacy concerns members have about vBulletinTemplates and its staff.


Activation

To download anything from vBulletinTemplates, you must be a licensed vBulletin customer, meaning you have purchased a vBulletin license or had someone add you on to their license. You will need to use the exact same e-mail that you use in the vBulletin support forums as you do here at vBulletinTemplates.

I have had so many PM's over the past week about this, it is getting very hectic. I have responded to a few, regardless of my signature but it is going a bit far. Members are not reading any of the notices, they are just contacting the staff.

I ask that you please read ALL notices before attempting to make contact. If we have already posted about the issue, chances are if a repsonse is made, then you will be directed to it and asked to read it.

I apologize if this is being rude, but you cannot expect to have everything done for you. It is very easy to activate the account, just the use the same e-mail, nothing more or less to it .


I hope this clears up a few issues that are at hand and will place some members to ease about privacy issues and aid those with registration.

Just adding on to this statement. Remember that your email address is case sensitive, and whitespace can also throw it off. If you are sure the address is correct and your are still begin told you are showing up as un-licensed try logging out and back into your acount here.
