What does this do for Vb
Q. Why I can not run functions mail() and phpinfo()
A. For security reasons those functions and all sockets functions are disabled. Please do not use it in your PHP programs. I am runing a small forum for the first time and until i get it all sorted i am on a free host called coolfreepages, but this was in FAQ, i understand that the mail() means i cannot use any mail function link signup etc what does the phpinfo() prevent me from doing. I can not attach anything aswell could this be a reason, thats files or upload avatar. Does anyone know of a free site that would be better until iam sorted then i plan on paying, dont want to waste money if i give it all up. |

Free hosts are not going to offer you hardly anything of value, hence the reason there is paid hosting. Most free hosts that offer PHP, run it in Safe Mode with certain disabilities (i.e. no mail() access, size restrictions, ect)
phpinfo() just allows you to view the information on the server as far as what modules are installed and other such things, it does not play a huge part in vBulletin I don't think . I would seriously just think harder on paid hosting over free, you will be much better off. |
