Idea for a mod here
A smiple little mod that would probably help a lot when it comes to newbies posting questions in the modification forums. It would be great if everyone would simply read the rules but we all know how that goes.
Create a generic templated page with large print saying something like "Only post in this forum if you have a prepared modification, otherwise Go Here (main forum link) and find the appropriate place. If you have a mod ready to post Click Here to continue". Setup a conditional for all the post links in the modification forums so this appears when they click no New Thread. Setup a group promotion for a set amount of posts (whatever seems appropriate, so we know they've been around a while and understand how it works here) to put them into a group that will no longer see that message. I did this for a forum at my site and it has eliminated practically all posts not related to that forum. Just a thought |
