Moderator's Pull Down Menu
One of our UNIX.COM mods have requested the following:
We need a drop-down list when a moderator is reading a thread. One line item might be "definite homework". Click on the "definite homework" button and the thread is closed and a reply post is automatically composed and the moderator has a chance to edit this response. Then when the mod clicks "submit", the response is posted to the thread. So a mod can handle this with just 3 clicks assuming that the mod does not want to edit the response. But a human is in continual control of the process and would vet anything that gets posted. Besides rule violations, the other obvious need is a "hey dufus, how about a few clues?" button. This would produce a list where the mod would click (or not click) version of unix, shell, filesystem type, etc. A polite reply requesting the needed data would be composed. Again, the mod would possibly edit it and "submit" it. |
