Hack Threads, First Post type.

I was wondering what "Hack" is inplace on this site that allows the first post to be the hack with all the extra fields, and the rest be replies. I run an automotive website and we have a Do It Yourself forum that this format would be great on.

You might try searching for a hack that lets the "first post in thread be different" or something along those lines. I doubt the specific code vbulletin.org uses is released here ... but I know there have been in the past hacks that accomplish this - least for vb2. I'd imagine they'd be ported into vb3 by now.

It's template changes mostly and the use of template conditionals.

the one used on vb.org is special, as we have included other db tables and so on into the first post, doing some unserializes aso.

and that one isn't released

I'm looking for this type of functionality too.

It's too bad that a search for "first post in thread be different" gets reduced too "post, thread" by the vbulletin.org search settings.

I found this hack:
