Once my site has been launched, are there any secrets to increasing traffic. I will be depending on hits in order to attract advertisers therefore the quicker I develop a user base, the faster I'll be pulling in money.

Personally I don't think anyone should set up a site to make money, it's not a rich quick thing, set it up because you want to and have an interest in it otherwise you may be disappointed, and if you make money from it then it's a bonus
Well, as long as you aren't shelling out 100+ dollars a month on dedicated servers you are fine. Start small, grow big, pull in the money once you know it's stable and will last. You don't want to dissapoint yourself, or your advertisers. Nothing worse than a failed publisher
