Additional Usergroups?
This may be a dumb question but I am still boggled.
I have never used this feature and the explantion it gives me doesn't explain its use. I have mostly used VB2?? and jsut started using VB3 VB2 never had this option and if I give someone a Primary Usergroup say Membership, why would I give them an additional usergroup option? Just doesn't make sense. Maybe I just don't see what you all see. What is the main use of haveing addtional usergroups. In VB2 if I wanted members to view forums that others can't see then I create a new usergroup and adjust the permissions? I move that member to that new Usergroup. THanx in advance |

This allows you to combine that.
Say you have three forums, a public one, and two private ones (A + B) registered users have access to the public forum now you want users to be able to subscribe, to either A, B or both. when they subscribe, they'll automatically be added to the specific usergroup. In the vB2 Version, you'd need 4 usergroups: - registered - registered + A - registered + B - registered + A + B now think how many usergroups you save if you have a much more complicated setup... |

I was beginning to think that. I jsut couldn't see outside the VB3 box
That will definetly help me loose usergroups. ust so used to the VB2 set up |
