Default hmm..idea

ok im sorry if its allready has been asked but here is my idea..

there are those forums of help (where users ask for help with problems/coding)
well sometimes thread poster find a soultion to his problem but its not showen in first post in thread so i thought what about to make an hack that goes like that(very simlier to support thread) :

thread poster will have an option when he edit his post or other condition with drop down menu with 2 options 1.Sloved 2.Not Sloved

now the condition of thread will be viewable in forumdisplay and also users will be able to short messages by sloved/not sloved messeages so users which want to help other users, wont need to search in posts what sloved and what not..

hmm i hope you got my idea , and what do you think about it ?

...Maybe also an option to mark the post with the solution.

It would be helpful. Mind you something else that would be helpful would be if people who solve it them selves actually post the solution. It's just one of those things that gets my back up that people come along and say

"I've got this problem and it's like biv dbcvuwbregbvm uiewgbufvba uioahfowebvh"

Then post underneath it and say

"It's OK I figured it out"

WHAT DID THEY DO!!!!!

(Sorry it really bugs me that's all)

I got such a hack in my board.
When the threadstarter answers to his thread he has an option to mark this thread as solved (can not be undone).
If a thread is marked solved it will have a checkmark on its status icon in forumdisplay and search.

But it is being used very seldom.

We installed this modification a while ago when we had a support forum. It didn't work well from what I can recall.

Yep, we have had that mod installed in the past during vb2 times and it didn't work out, so it got removed again after some time.

Whether we put it in the rules or not, people will don't always read or pay attention to the rules.
