Muilti mod, and upgrade usergroup based on posts
Ok i been spending some time getting myself all sorted and getting used to VB now, but now that i getting close to being very happy i feel i still need to try to solve a few small addons that i really could use for our site.
There are a few feature that i can not find, or may not be added into VB that i used alot on my past forum, so i could really use some help from you guys/girls that know VB so well. Is there a feature or currnet mod for vb 3.0.3 that would upgrade a usergroup based on post count. I need to be able to add a user when signs up into one account, and once posted 10 times, they get promoted into a new account automaticly. If this is not possible, then would it be possible that a members who has less than 10 posts not to see a certain forum, or have no access to post within a certain forum. Thanks again for all your help in me getting used to this new fun forum software. |

VBulletin 3 already has this built in
Admin CP->Usergroups->Promotions->Add New Promotion. Select the usergroup you will promote from (in your case.. the user group with less than 10 posts). Put "10" in the posts field (ignore the other options above it). Then select "posts" as promotion stradegy.. then select the new usergroup for this user in the "Move User to Usergroup" option. Once an hour (or as you set it up in the cron options in VB3),VBulletin will look for users in user X that have more than 10 posts and move them to your specified group Y. |
