Posts to hidden forum still found in "New Posts"
I tried to create an invisible forum by choosing "Forum is Active -> No" when setting up the forum. Only the people who I give the URL to should know where this forum is generally. But...when a post is made to that forum, it shows up in "New Posts" and regular users can see it.
Is there a hack or setting to keep this from happening? Thanks. |

If you have permission to see the forums they they will show up for you. But they wont' for those users who do not have permission to see them.

Yes, that makes sense.
Is there a hack or setting to keep this from happening for a particular forum? I prefer not to set up a special usergroup. |

You would need a separate usergroup unless you password protect the forum. That way even users who have the password won't see the posts unless they have entered the password. (unless you are an admin of course)

Thanks. I guess what you both are saying is that you know of no hack that will let me easily hide posts for a hidden forum...
I have no desire to create the administrative overhead of a seperate usergroup or a password. I just want to hide posts in a hidden forum. I'm quite surprised that there seems to be no hack for this. |
