New Front end for forums
Hello everybody
I'm pretty sure this goes here, but if not I'm sure it will be moved to the appropriate place i.e. Templates. This would be a rather extensive hack, thats why I dont think it should go in templates, but I'll let the mods be the judge. I'm not looking for a frontend, I already use vbPortal and will probably upgrade to it when the final for VB 3.0 is ready, but What I'd like to do is a semi-new frontend for the boards themselves. I know you can rename the index.php and tell the vbulletin admin, you did that and it's all happy. I'm posting a pic from another site, that has basically what I want as the new front end, can you tell me if this can be done or not? The pic is taken from a site useing ASP if that matters. In the pic, notice the watched boards, that would be something like the subscriptions in the UserCP, but only the board name Any help would be greatly appriciated P.S. I would be willing to pay a nominal fee, if it can be done. I would have to see it working somewhere first though! Thank you for your time |

Hello, as some of you may have noticed, I've posted this on a few sites including vbulletin.com
and I am getting the same response everywhere. People seem to think I am looking for a portal. I am not, I will probably use vbAdvanced or vbPortal, or the cPublisher that Teck is working on but I want a new boards index, that shows the stuff around the forums list, but instead of the forums list, show for example, whats in the pic above. I have renamed the index.php and told vbulletin that, so the test boards still work, but I made a copy of the file to manipulate it. Attached is what I have done so far, I figured out on my own, how to remove the boards themselves in the file, but not the layout that the boards were in. I hope I explained that right, anyway. I need to figure out how to manipulate it, to look like the layout of the pic in my previous post. as well as how to code the blocks, expecially the watched boards block. Any help would be appriciated |
