Save deleted posts/threads by mods?
Im having a problem on my site, with moderators deleting posts because they are supposedly 'offensive' in nature. More often than not, the original poster argues the fact that the post should have been deleted, but once its deleted, I have no way of judging if the deletion was warranted. Is there a hack that saves a post that mods delete? If not, does anyone have a solution to this problem, short of disabling moderator powers?

well the easiest solution is to update your forum to vb3 beta, as the feature is included there

get them to move the 'offending' threads to a private forum for validation by yourself, instead of deleting straight away. that way, you can either move it back, or delete it, whatever...

So when a moderator (or anyone for that matter) chooses to delete a post, rather than actually deleting it, it would just put it in the 'to be moderated' category? Am I understanding this correctly? Thanks in advance

exactly
nobody would see the post anymore, except for mods in the modcp if you install fireflys hiddenpost hack, mods would be able to see them in the thread, too |
