You screwed up on a template somewhere; double-check that you created/edited the templates correctly.

Spick, that looks like a colspan problem. You need to check both the forumhome and forumhomebit templates. The first sets the width for the heading part.... the second sets the width for the rows.

You have the big black gob at the right side because colspan is set to 7 in one place, but it's only set to 6 in another.

The other problem is in the tables and rows you have set. The "private messages" shows up on the same line (row) as "today's birthdays." You want those to be separate rows, right? If so, then you're missing an ending </tr> after one line and a new <tr> on the other.

Hope this helps a little. Good luck.

Well, it's not forumhomebit.. I'll have to check which template needs a change (don't remember off-hand). I have Lesane's hack installed, too... so it should be easy enough to compare the code. If you PM me, I'll help you find the mistake.

Hi Spick,

I had to leave for a while right after you did. I got your forum page to line up okay, but there are two problems still there that I wasn't able to solve.

1. To get everything aligned properly, I did have to change a wide colspan setting and (finally) I had to add an extra <tr> at the top of the forumhome_pmloggedin template.

Mind you, the extra <tr> tag does NOT belong there. That's just a temporary "work-around" to make the page look presentable so your members won't see a mess ..... until you can find the real problem and get this fixed for real.

2. Your $birthdaybits aren't showing up for some reason on the Today's Birthdays line. But what you have in the forumhome and forumhome_birthdaybit looks fine (compared to what I've got for my forum).

Whatever it is that prevents the birthday boys/girls from appearing there is the same thing that's causing your alignment problem in the section below (private messages). Maybe it's a missing closing tag or something.... probably some little syntax goof or a typo. But this is what you should look for to find the cause of these problems.

3. I went through all three versions of Lesane's hack and couldn't find anything left behind from when you uninstalled them all.

Here's a pic of how it looks. The top part being a visual shot of the original problem..... the part below is how it looks now. The problem areas are marked in red.

Wish I could find the rest of it, but you'll need someone to help who knows more than me.

Good luck,

Talis.
