[Request] : Integrating already available two Search engine friendly hacks !

Hello,

This is a request to integrate two hacks which are seperately developed by two helpful contributors here for making the forum more search engine friendly.

One is by Overgrow : which attempts to build a archive of all the threads in all the forums and assigns a different url in the archive, but it actually doesn't change the real url's.

On the other hand :

We have fastforward's hack, which really attemts of change the URL's of each thread and each page on the forum, that is converting dynamic url's into static url's. which is quite different than what overgorw and a couple of others have released.

what happens if both these hacks are installed :
Overgrow hack and fastforward's hacks when both installed will give different url's to any given thread and google might either be confused or more likely consider it as a SPAM.

But, i strongly feel that both these hacks together can be more effective in SEO than individual one.

Hence, if these two hacks can be integrated in such a way that, when both installed gives One static url, which will be really great.

Can someone help us here with this, probably one of the lead developers of the two hacks ??

I'd like to ask you if your hack really converts the dynamic url's to static url's or is it something like overgrow's or a perfect mix of both ??

I actually want to convert those dynamic url's to static url's in reality ( fastforward's hack ) but still use overgrow's hack ( which can act as a site map ).
Moreover, i guess, your hack detects only google bot and not any other search engine bots, which might be a drawback, right ??
Nevertheless, the hack is done with very less hassles and solves the purpose of googlebot indexing ur site.

Only problem now is, google might consider it as spam as when both those hacks are installed each thread will have two different URL's.

If someone can integrate this, it'll be greatly helpful.

Why do you want to use several hacks? All three of the beforementioned ones are all designed to work independently.

All my forums have shorter URL's ( http://board.midibuddy.net )with fastforwards hack and a very nice archive ( http://board.midibuddy.net/archive2/ ) with Skuzzy's hack. (I still have overgrow's hack installed but google dropped it from the index)

Google has most of my threads indexed at least twice.

You mean that each thread is indexed twice by google each with a different URL ??

If that is the case, i strongly suggest you stop doing it. It could be viewed as SPAM by Google and if it does classify it as a spam, your site will be penalised for life probably and can never get into their index.

That is exactly the reason why i said they should be integrated and after integration, both should have one url for each thread and forum or any page within the forum.

tpearl : i am running vB ver2.3.0 and would like to install fastforward's hack which actually converts dynamic url's into static url's....could you please attach the instructions file for ver2.3.0, so that i can install it for my board.
