Disable COPPA totally?
In the control panel, I know I can turn off COPPA but I believe that just means the kids don't have to go through the COPPA process. Is it possible to turn off the ability for kids under the age of 13 to register entirely without hacking? If I figure that out I will change 13 to 18

I think you would have to hack to do this, pretty easy hack though, neh?

People can always lie about their birthdays though. So I'm not sure what you mean by disable registration completely.

Don't you have to have COPPA enabled if you live in the US?

I don't have coppa enabled since i run an adult forum
It should be obvious that 13 years old and younger aren't allowed |

@Boofo - Actually I dont think you would need to have coppa enabled if you dont allow people under 18 to register at all

Bane - I thought I read somewhere that is was the law to have it enabled if you lived in the states to protect yourself if you had someone under a certain age get access to your site illegally (by lying about their age and/or false proof of ID). I could have read it wrong, I'm not sure. I have it enabled on my site. I never really bothered to mess with taking it out. I might check into that a little further.

Agreed Boofo. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it is a requirement with law to have it in.
