I am SERIOUSLY thinking about getting vBulletin. In the past, I have used phpbb, IB, YABB, and other freebee type forums. However, the vBulletin community seems large with a nice hacking section.

I am looking at vBulletin and vbPortal 3.0 pr8.1. However, I will consider any portal type pieces. Advice?

Can you all sell me on this? This is a hard decision because many of the othe boards are free. Why did you all choose to pay?

Hi.

I have used many bulletin boards before and some have been good. But none have come with the amount of features and help that vBulletin has. Not to mention the 1000's of hacks that will turn your vBulletin into something so good it far outweighs the "free" boards. Best board on the market IMO

As for a portal system, take a look at www.teckwizards.com It's called vbhome (lite), it's easy to install, easy to use and manage and IMO is far better than any other currently out.

yes, vb is one of the best optimized bb and vb3 will even be more optimized, so it's woth it's money.

Portal system i second vbHome (lite), the author is a very good coder and has done hard and good work to optimize it

The support for vbulletin and the amount of oppurtunity for customization is amazing

Ive used many boards in the past, both free and paid. I came to vbulletin after using ubb 5 and 6.

vBulletin has been the best thing ive ever done for my site. The support IS THE BEST, hands down. Members of the vBulletin team acully logged onto my server for me and fixed errors when i was frist getting the hang of vB.

If you want the best for your community, a software that will easyly intergrate into your site and other softwares like photopost. vB is for you.
