Not sure if it's a bug in vb 2.2.8 or if some other hack I installed interfered with it, but I recently disabled avatar uploads and selected only to allow remote linking avatars. Since that time, it tells me that any avatar selected is not a valid .gif or .jpg file. Anyone know if this is a bug or perhaps a simple error in selection in the admin cp? Attached is a screenshot of my avatar settings..

I'd reccomend upgrading to vb 2.2.9 unhacked because i used to get these errors on attachments...

Yes, avatar uploads have been buggy across 2.2.8. I had the same problem, and uploading to 2.2.9 fixed it for me.

I get the same on a vb226. I will be upgrading soon, just dont want to rehack everything yet.
