Is there a hack that lets a moderator specify the # of days a thread will remain sticky?

Also, is there a hack that automatcally unbans a poster then the ban is up?

How do you mean? Do you mean (for example) that you want to ban a member for 2 weeks, and then after that 2 weeks is up the member's account is automatically unbanned? If so this is a default vBulletin feature. Just issue a temporary ban rather than a permanent ban.
