vbb / irc eggdrop thingie

it should be a hack that when a user makes a new post on the board, the time/threadname/username/threadlink are send to a irc eggdrop. This eggdrop should then say it to a channel you can choose. Also it would be nice if you can choose which forums should have this function and which should not have this function.

You have to remember, it would be pretty easy to do, but your script would have to ftp to the shell that the IRC bot is running on or the script would have to be on the same server that the IRC bot is running on.

the ftp-part should be easy enough. Could even do it in a cronjob.
Could even make the script connect directly to the bot or something.

But my days with eggs are long gone. I am not about to dirty my hands with TCL again.

i wish someone would as this has to be one of the best ideas to come around for a bit.

How many boards now have a Mirc Chat room so it goes hand in hand really.
I aint talented enough to do it - i will admit it but there is deffo some talent on here who could help people like us out.

Also id like to say i have seen this in action.
Someone is using an eggdrop so they must have a tcl script but when i asked them they said it was private and that was end of that conversation.

Thing is even running an eggdrop which is fairly easy and getting hold of an tcl script how would they interact with the board to send the info to a mirc room.

For all you who are after thi s- its out there but no one is sharing
