just a hosting question.
I've been hosting my site with a company for almost 2 years now, and it's gettin quite expensive. I'm wondering if what i'm paying sounds reasonible to you guys.
My basic Plan includes: Virtually hosted 200 megs of storage 10 gigs of transfer monthly Perl, PHP, MySQL, CGI (only 1 database allowed) only SSH access 25 mail accounts I'm paying $ 100 monthly plus 10 bucks a gig for overages. I usually average around 30 gigs of transfer a month so it gets quite spendy. Long story short, it usualy costs me around 300 bucks a month. Due to the nature of the site, The server must be physically located in Canada, so my choices are a bit limited, but i was hoping for some opinions. Prior to this host, i was with one that was much cheaper, but their service was terible. The one i presently have is pretty good, so i'm a bit nervous about switching. so whattia think...am i gettin robbed or what? If so, anyone have any recommendations on a reliable host in Canada? |

The genre of my site is frowned upon by a US based company, by having the server located in Canada, the site is subject to the applicable laws and statutes of Canada and British Columbia...not the US.
more or less just keeps the lawyers off my butt. |
