I am Curious if it is possible to segrigate forums. What i mean buy this is if i have multiple sub domains and i want lets say 5 categorys per sub domain but i only want those 5 categorys and the forums in them to show up for that sub domain even on the pop up list can this be done. The reason i ask is that i want to alow the same user name over multipe sub domain forums but i dont want ones sub domains categorys to be seen while in another.

Well, I'm certainly not an expert, but I think you can solve this with sub-forums, added from the admin control panel. You can also, as you must know, control the access to the subforums.
If you have completely different forums (different instances of vbulletin) I guess (I have not tried it) that each user has to register again for each forum, which means each user has to log in to every new forum that you create to be able to access it. I think it also requires a new licence for each instance (at least as I read it in the agreement when purchasing the licence). To me it seem that this is much easier solved with sub-forums within your main forum. |

Then i had an idea i think would Work for me is it Possible to change the Forum Jump menu to only show Forums under that Top category they are currently in but still display the User Options? That way i would Direct each sub domain Directly to there category and when they used the Jump menu they would only see there forums.
It is important that if in a sub category they would still see the other Sub categories and forums under that specific top Category. But Not see any other Top categorys. I think as a low cost solution if the Former is not possible this might be an ok solution That way they can only go where i point them. |
