Help! Problems with Facebook
I posted this problem on the forum at vbulletin.com five days ago, but still no response so I am really hoping someone here can help me as I don't know where to go from here.
I have upgraded to 4.2.3RC1 and facebook is still not working Facebook Connect works (though it was before). But other features are still not working. When liking a thread and leaving a comment, it does not post on Facebook. Nothing happens. When I tried to do the same under another account on my site the facebook image turned to the word Error. When you click Error a box pops up: Object Invalid Value: Object at URL 'http://www.huntleyneighbors.com/forum/showthread.php?147623-tapatalk' of type 'article' is invalid because the given value '/forum/images/misc/HN.gif' for property 'og:image:url' could not be parsed as type 'url'. The link in the error is the thread I was trying to test the Like with comment feature from. When I tried to reply to a thread and check Publish to Facebook I get this: Invalid Scopes: publish_stream. This message is only shown to developers. Users of your app will ignore these permissions if present. Please read the documentation for valid permissions at: https://developers.facebook.com/docs...in/permissions The document they link to does not help me at all. I find results on a Google search, but nothing that helps with vBulletin. I thought doing the upgrade would fix this, and now I am at a loss.... Additionally, when I try to Publish to facebook using a different account, a popup box comes up and disappears very quickly so I can't see what it says, then it unchecks the publish box and just keeps doing the same if you try again. I am using: vB 4.2.3RC1 PHP Version 5.4.38 SQL Version 5.5.42-37.1 Using default style |

Disable all plugins via config and test on default unmodded style
To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php PHP Code:

Thank you for your quick reply!
I tried disabling plugins as you suggested and tried again (already was using default style). All results were the same except the Error went away when trying to like as other user - though it still doesn't post to Facebook. Looks like it goes through and then nothing happens, both for my admin user and a regular member user. Using Quick Reply and checking the Publish to Facebook option still does exactly what I described in first post. |

That is actually the page the popup error sends me to. I am not very techie. The page doesn't help me because I don't know what to do to with it. It describes different permissions, but doesn't tell me where to find them or how to change them.
I tried starting over and creating a new app based on step-by-step (and recent) instructions and got the same results. |

Best to get someone from here to set it up for you as you are getting permissions wrong

Well if you have the cash you can post in Requests for Paid Services or make a new post asking if anyone would help for free Modification Requests/Questions (Unpaid)

I would first try posting in this forum:
Modification Requests/Questions (Unpaid) Include the information from your first post and anything else you might think will help someone who knows about this to answer your query. |
