So I am considering moving away from vbulletin, but i dont necessarily want to.
I have questions, so please help me figure out some things. To start, I like vb3.x, but NOTHING newer. I tried vb4, hate it. 1) how secure is vb3 compared to newer forum softwares really ? -I did do a few things like password protect .htaccess, and changed the folder names of admincp and modcp. Dont remember if I did more than that. -Are there other relatively easy ways to secure it? 2) How bad is vb3 performance compared to newer stuff? Are there things other than this that I may not be considering? Because I would be content staying with vb3 if I knew it wasnt going to really really bite me on the ass down the line. Thanks. |

Many like vb3 if you use the last vb3 out it would be secure.
Change admincp and modcp in config then rename folders to be the same what you put in config Code:
$config['Misc']['admincpdir'] = 'admincp'; $config['Misc']['modcpdir'] = 'modcp'; |
