Smf to Vbulletin 4.2.2 and Attachments
Hello,
I have decided to move vbulletin 4.2.2 from smf. I have searched everywhere but i have still some questions in my mind. We use impex to import smf to vb, i have told it doesnt import attachment in my forum. i have more than 7.600 attachments in my forum and they are almost 3 gb. if impex doesnt work, is there any other way to do it? Another thing is the members and threads. More than 190 thousand members and 134,634 post in 22.701 threads are in the forum. Is impex useful for this big forum? I dont want to lose any of it. Thanks for the answers.. |

Moving an established board from one frame work to another is never an easy journey and always requires some additional manipulation. I would definitely be searching for a third party that is already familiar with this conversion.
I am not familiar with the internals of SMF, but see no reason why (with some craftsmanship) attachments cannot be carried over. If you do not have the skills or time necessary, this is an area I would be hiring a consultant. Hopefully, one of the fine people here can point you to the right professional. |

According to the Impex Manual it does support attachments from SMF:
