Email Queue
If I turn off the email queuing system that located in VB 4.2.0, emails are sent out instantly right? My host allows an unlimited number of emails to be sent per hour (dedicated server) so I'm wondering if the queue system is necassary. Would it cause strain to the server? I would imagine I'd be sending about 100 emails per hour because I have a post notification system set up on the forum where members receive an email based on keywords located in posts.

Unless you have a very fast hosting best to leave it as default because if you get a lot of emails going out it could slow your site down

He's not on hosting, he's on a dedicated server, and the estimated hundred mails per hour will hardly be an issue.
I'd just try and see what happens to the server. My bet: nothing. |
