Sizing (and Presence) Inconsistencies with Older Avatars

Dealing with a little weird issue, which I've had for a while now, but never really looked into. I've installed a couple of different default avatar modifications, and each one indicated that there was something amis with particular user profiles.

I've had this one by GeekyDesigns installed forever, and using it, specific users (no particular usergroup) would get the default avatar, but it would not be sized properly. My default settings are 150x150, and they'd be resized to 80x80. But only specific users. Not globally.

Then I tried Ozzy's today, and interestingly those same users' avatars don't display at all.

In fact, in the Admin CP I find a broken image is the selected avatar, and it actually links to what appears to be a corrupted image on the server.

I think these user had custom avatars at one time, and something happened so far back that I failed to log properly, so I can't backtrack to exactly when it happened. But rebuilding custom avatars doesn't seem to do anything. An example would be the user DaGuyWitBlueGlasses on this thread. I'm toggling between different modifications at the moment to try and debug, but depending on what I have turned on you may see a tiny default avatar, or no avatar at all. Maybe somebody can point me in the right direction.

I did. However, it works fine in vB3 as far as I could tell. It wasn't really your mod that started the issue. It was just your mod that reminded me that there was an issue.

That is wierd, the two different sized default avatars, StRiKe_NiNjA's avatar comes up as this (full size):

Are you sure you have checked usergroup perms to see if the drops don't have a 80 x80 limit?

If not, have you done a search in the templates for, width="80" OR height="80"?

Yup, it's consistently like that on all skins and all their usergroups have the 150x150 setting. Right now I have GeekyDesigns' turned on, and your's off. That's when I get the different size avatars. When I use yours, those particular users get no avatars.

Upon closer examination, it appears these users had custom avatars at one time. I can't remember an event that would have lost them, other than a server migration from 100 years ago that did go well. (And, inexplicably, no one seemed to ever want to try to replace their missing avatars.) The avatars are still being stored, but their corrupted somehow. (I actually see a broken image on their account in the Admin CP.) It's looking more and more like I'll just have to remove these avatars manually. But I'm hoping it's not a symptomatic of a larger problem.
