Style Designer Advice
Hi everyone. I've been using vBulletin for almost a year now, and I really want to get into creating custom forum skins and styles, however I'm not sure where to start. I've only ever modified existing skins rather than make one from scratch, so I don't really have anything to put into a portfolio. Would the best approach just be making one and submitting it here? I feel that without purpose (making one just to make one) it won't be as good as making one for someone else.
Sorry if that sounded confusing. Any advice from the pros? |

You want to use vBulletin's 'Stylevars', if you are running vb4. I will toss you some reference links to get you started. Make sure you are using one of the later versions of vb4 as the stylevar system was not finished in the early versions.

Sorry if I was a bit vague on this, I know how to use StyleVars, and I know basic CSS/HTML however I'm more looking at how to get my foot in the door without a portfolio.

I think you just have to build one, beta test it thoroughly, and put it out there. Then, SUPPORT it!
