Merging databases from same forum
I had some problems with my main site and had to take it down for a week or so. I had a backup copy set up, and forwarded the URL to it. Got back on vacation, fixed the problem and turned the main site back on.
My problem: I don't want to lose the week's worth of posts while the main site was offline. Is there a clean way to merge that backup database with the main copy, without having all the posts duplicated? |

No, there is no easy way to do this. You would need some database expert to do this. Since you had added posts in the backup, you would have postids duplicated in both database for different posts (and threads, and users, and attachments, etc).

Thanks Lynne, I was hoping there would be an easy solution. Guess not.
