Getting destroyed with spam 5,000 new members a day

My forum is http://bizforums.co.uk and it's been under a mass attack, around 5,000 new members per day, it was on 3,000 members which shot up to 3,000 overnight I returned in the morning and had to moderate all future users. It's going crazy, I think this is a deliberate attack.

Any ideas how to stop it?

Along with Spam-O-Matic, the best (IMO) defense against spammers for vBulletin is ZBBlock. We have been using it on our forum since November 12, 2012. ZBBlock is to spammers, what Raid is to unwanted insects in your home.

I'm now trialing Spam-O-Matic, it's already going awol LOL - Do you guys get this much spam?

I do agree..... I'm using just Q&A but complicating a bit. eg "Starting from Monday which is the 4+1 day of the week". 4+1 instead of 5 gives one more difficulty level.
And ofcourse you must have 10+ questions. With just one is like having nothing.
