Resource Limit Is Reached
Hi,
I was getting the "Resource Limit Is Reached" error when I was on a cPanel hosting website, and my forum was running insanely slow. Then, I moved to a 1GB Linux VPS with 50GB HDD space and 3TB bandwidth, and I'm still getting the error as well insanely slow speeds on the forums. Anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks! |

What are your memory limits set to..?

As this could be related to numerous different things, including what skol stated memory, you really need to check the server itself, this isnt something easily diagnosed from this side of the server.

Where can I find this out?

Unfortunately, hardware isnt going to tell us whats going on with the server, it needs to be inspected for a cause.
memory_limit can be found in your phpinfo page in the maintence section of the admincp. But again, the memory_limit doesnt mean its the cause of the issue. memory_limit errors arent labeled as "Resource Limit Is Reached" |

Ask your hosts!, if you are at your resource limit it will be the resources allocated to your part of the shared hosting, your hosts will be able to clear this up for you, they'll even be able to tell you whats taking most of the resources.

I been having same issue and i been getting same error from past 3 days and today when i contacted my hosting they said that traffic towards your site has been extremely high which is good thing however when that happens it open new connections and you reach the max limit. I have a friend of mine he had same problem. I believe lately there has been a lot of spammers hitting on vb forums which is causing this issue.

I've sorted this. We ended up doing a db rollback and it works fast.

Are you sure you're fixed?? db rollback (or loading a previous backup of a database) = less data as the previous version will not have as much data as the one you overwrote!, the database wouldn't have been the issue unless you'd reached the max your database could be on shared hosting!
