cookie/admincp issue
I recently transfered a board from one server to another. I also upgraded from 3.7 to 3.8 in the process.
I have two issues which I think are related. When people sign in it welcomes them and then does not save them as being signed in. When I try to access the admin cp it welcome me and then takes me right back to the sign in screen without taking me to the admin cp. I suspect it is because I have not updated the url's and such in the admin cp, but I can't get there to do it. Any suggesions on how I can either get in to the admin cp or update the new site information so the cookies and such work? |

Your host can update this for you. Have you changed URL in your config?

You could try uploading tools.php to your admincp folder. (tools.php should be in the package you downloaded from vbulletin, in the 'do not upload" folder). Then in your browser go to admincp/tools.php and enter your customer number. You can then use "Reset Cookie Domain" and "Reset Cookie Prefix" (*do not* try any of the other options!!). Then remove tools.php, clear cookies from your browser and try again.

Resetting the cookies in the tools worked wonders. That fixed both problems.
I was able to get into the admin cp and update the url under site contact info. Now my only problem is some items in the menu link to the new site urls and some things like the home link back to the old. |
