In the past there have been RC's out after the beta, then gold.
We should still have some time left before gold.
Maybe a valentines day launch, or st patricks day is my guess

I would rather have the software out when it is ready rather than try to hit some date before the end of the year. How well was vB4 accepted when it hit Gold by the end of the year instead of when it was ready?

I completely agree with that, but vb5 will be released long before it is ready. Its at beta 23 now and the announcement states its nearing Gold status. Yet, its nowhere near ready.

Don't know why you're complaining. PaulM was clear (and totally honest). "2013". So sometime between 1 Jan 2013 and 31 Dec 2013. Clear things.
