Question about vbulletin install script
So an accidental installation of a vb4 mod on a vb3 board has thrown our board a bit out of lineage as far as styles are concerned. And the way they look. So I have a question about reinstalling vb from scratch.
I have a forums folder that has all of my stuff in it for nivo slider, our forum app, etc. If I were to reupload the vbulletin install script, run it. And then import our .sql database, would that solve the problem? And would everything be intact such as our styles? I know posts and stuff would still be there. But as far as styles and designs are concerned? Keep in mind our styles are self-designed. We didn't upload any designer skins or anything. And what exactly does the install script do as far as rebuilding vb structure and look that might have been mis-shapen due to a bad plugin? |

Or you can restore the db at your live forum directly without running the installer. That wouldn''t be necessary. |

I already have styles for my board that we've created ourself. How would I import the theme from a test board to my board without deleting our created skins/themes/styles? Here is a link to our board http://hmandsforums.oliwy.net/forums/
I already ran the install script and wiped out everything. IT'S OKAY! I have a backup of our board from April 15th 2012. and December 31st 2011 on my desktop as I type. But see this is how I want the width to look. The plugin (which we uninstalled, and yet the after-effects remained), really stretched our board and made it look ugly. We specifically designed it at a certain width. But what part exactly of the install script, if you can tell me. Implants the default width? Because it gave me a list of tables to delete from my database before I ran the script. So if you can pinpoint for me the exact table I'd need to delete from my database and replace. I can have my webhost upload the backup, and then I can run the install script and just pluck out the one or two affected tables. And replace them via the install script. Also on restoring the database, we've done that and the error is still affecting the styles. Thus, I've had to take drastic measures. |
