Pruning/Moving Old Supermods
I have noticed recently that when using the Prune/Move users feature, former supermods who have been removed from all moderator usergroups and have no visible permissions on the SHow All Moderators page are listed as moderators and unable to be moved/pruned. Is there a fix to this or is there some way to remove the permissions from the records?

I believe it's possible to remove a moderator manually by deleting the row in the "moderators" table that corresponds to the user's id. -Nick, SEOvB Developer |

Thanks SEOvB. That worked. There ended up being an entry for EVERY previous moderator we've had. I wonder if this is a bug in vBulletin coding that doesn't remove the moderator entry once you've removed a moderator or changed the usergroup...seems like a big mistake. I might report it to be fixed in a future version!

Glad I could help!
Permissions are tricky things in vB. It's possible that there is no internal distinction between adding a user to the moderator usergroup and assigning a user to moderate a specific forum. If you did the latter, that may be the root of the problem. Anyways, filing a bug report is still a good idea. -Nick, SEOvB Developer |
