Default What? How do I edit my new vbulletin??

So I have my website up, but my website is displaying with "/forums" after the website address, rather than just the website address I purchased. I believe this is because I named the "Upload" folder "forums", based on the vbulletin manual.

How can I change my website name to just the http://www._______.com?

Right now it is at http://www.__________.com/forums.

Also I have another domain name that I would like to connect to this website, however at this moment it is not connected to anything.

Also, how can I start to edit my website? I spoke with my web host, and they said that I would have to do this via vbulletin support.

Please help me urgently.

In your public_html do you have a folder called *forums* with the forum files containing It?

1: To change the URL of your forum, simply move all of the files from the "forums" folder to your root URL.

2: So you want the domain to forward to your new site, no problem you just need to forward that domain name to this site name. I don't know who you bought your domain with or I may be able to tell you how to do that.

3: Have you logged into your admincp yet? www.yoursite.com/forums/admincp OR when you move the files to your root, www.yoursite.com/admincp

Have you taken a look at the Vbulletin Manual yet? It really can answer a lot of questions for you. Also, there are several videos on Youtube that show you different things you can do also.

Here's the Manual

Not to sound like a complete novice, but what is the "root URL" folder?

I have the following files:

home(mywebsite)
-panel
-mozilla
-trash
-other folders with various names
-public_html
-----cgi-bin
-----forums
---------admin cp
---------all the rest of the vbulletin files

Where should I move the contents of the "forums" folder?

I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate all your help with this. I worry that I got in over my head, but I refuse to give up with this website.

Hmmm, but how can I make it so that they can just put in the http://www.________.com address and have that as my website? I don't want them to look up at the address and see http://www.______.com/forums, unless they are actually in the forums section.

There are no way to change to .com . You can change to .com only if it a home page or w.e ( as my opinion)

The way the vb suite works, you will either have /forums in there for everything or not at all.

To answer your question, the public_html folder is your "root URL". If your site isn't public yet and you haven't made any changes to it, it might be easier to remove the forum directory and start over with the installation instructions (but don't create a forum folder, just copy the contents of upload to public_html). If you do that it's probably easier to save your current forums/includes/config.php so you don't have to edit it again.

Ha ha, I got it! All I had to do was move the files/folders from the "forums" folder to the "public_html" folder. Now it works!

And now comes the part that I thought would be easy. How do I work with vbulletin go make it look cool? I don't want to use the generic template, which to me looks very boring. I want it to have a different template, but I have no idea how to proceed. Can someone please help me? I am in the admin control panel, logged in and everything. But how in the heck do I work with this software?? I thought it would be a lot more user-friendly!

Do you know if there is like a step by step guide for setting up vbulletin 4.1.11 publishing suite? Like a guide for morons? One that says the pros and cons of diferent steps. You know, like "here, you set the number of seconds in which a the user will automatically log off if there is inactivity. You shouldn't go over the default of 900 seconds because it will slow down your site." or something like that? You know, a guide for maroons with zero experience in doing a website, like myself.
