Sounds like a sensible move to me! There's nothing worse than landing on a website with terrible content but great SEO!

I have to agree that, from what I read, content will go back to being the main source for page ranking. Now these guys that come in here asking about SEO and their forum is still in the test folder, will have to concentrate more on getting good content.
As for me, it means that the playing field will be leveled finally. If my content is good I can compete fairly with the big boys. When that happens, look out. You're going to either see websites collapse or some really creative minds come out of the woodwork. The sad thing is that it took Google so long to finally realize that SEO was being manipulated by some savvy people to make crappy little websites look like a juggernaut. I can't wait to see what Google does. This should be good. Thanks Boofo. That's a good read. |

My only concern is how are they deciding what is a site that is too much SEO and not enough content... it's not like someone is reviewing each site... any algorithm they have will have a weakness that can be exploited.

I doubt they'll blacklist sites using appropriate SEO, whether from having an SEO expert as an admin or using something like vBSEO the best way possible. What this aims to do, is get rid of those keyword stuffing sites that write articles repeating the same few keywords in strong tags, em tags, heading tags, title tags, etc.,. |

Speaking of "repeating keywords", think you used that enough in your post?
