Attachment size error
Everytime I try to upload an attachment larger than 100kb, it gives me this message:

I deleted the php.ini file with the settings on, but no luck, I try to use .htaccess to change this (as hosting company said I can edit it via .htaccess) but I get the same message as above when I add this into there: Quote:
Thanks. |

Have you looked in the attachment manager? Each file type has a size limit. I don't think exceeding it should cause that error, but that could be a different problem.

I had PNG files set at 3MB, but even when uploading a 1MB or lower PNG image, I'll be presented with the error message as above. I tried whacking the limit up, so I now have PNG files set stupidly high (along with all other file types) at 65MB's but even before it fully finishes uploading, I get the error. |

Well, googling the error (which you may already have done) unfortunately only tells me that a lot of people have the same problem. A couple things, you might increase the php time limit if it's low, and also if you have access to the server error logs maybe look in there to see if there's any more info on that error.

Check Options > Message Attachment Options > Limit Space Taken Up By Attachments (Total)
But I can't imagine having this set too low would cause a server error Question for kh99: In vB3 whenever I was working on a php file and made a coding error I would get a page with an error message but that doesn't happen in vB4 unless I edit in ini-set('display_errors, '1'); Is there a setting to change that to display errors automatically? This would be applicable to the problem here I think. |

Yea, I tried googling, and found nothing in terms of a possible fix to this. In my error logs are just errors for when I tried to install custom http error vB generic shell templates, which didn't work.. Aside from that, nothing. My whole forum is based on uploading attachments.. So without even being able to upload a filesize larger than (it seems) 100KB.. I can't really do a lot. Quote:
as well as attachments per post ---------------------------------- EDIT Just saw this in my error log Quote:
