private forum
I have added a new forum & I would like this to be private- for invited members only-
No other members or Vistitors can view the posts..... But the forum can be seen- and when clicked- it will say " for invited members only" Can this be done ? |

On Forum Permissions, find the forum and click on Deny All. Then choose the usergroups you wish to see the forum and set the permissions appropriately. Then in Forum Manager > find forum > Edit, go set Show Private Forum to Yes.

You want to Invite users into the new usergroup? There is no Invite system. You would need to PM them or something like that. Or, you can try a search and see if there is a modification to do it.

If they accept your invite, you add them to a special usergroup that has permission to view that forum.

Yes, you would need to set up a special usergroup. Alternately, you could use Access Masks. It depends on what works best for your forum.
