Java?
Hey guys; I am not too familiar in/around this area and forgive me if this has been asked before.
Basically I try to turn my site into the general feeling of special/fun events that come around once a year; halloween/christmas and so on. I found this neat javascript of floating ghosts and want to add it to my forums. The problem is; how? I tried creating a .js file with the script inside and I placed it in the clientscript folder but that doesn't work. Don't really know how to activate it; any help? Thanks! |

You should be able to do what the instructions say - copy and paste it above <body>. To put something above the <body> tag in every vb page, just put it in the headinclude template.

Well yeah; the instructions say to put it in the HTML but I don't have a HTML file...or at least I don't see? I tried putting it in my HEADER template but doesn't work and just tried headinclude and didn't work.

oops - the instructions say "just above </body>", that's at the end. Although I'm not sure it will make a difference. In any case, you could try putting it at the end of the footer template.
Edit: I tried adding this to the end of the footer template and it works, but you also need to download the ghost images from that site and then upload them to your forum directory (the instructions are above the code box on that page you linked to). If you didn't do that, that may have been your problem - using an IE browser you get red 'x's floating around, but on other browsers you might just not see anything. Also, instead of putting it in your footer you could put it at the end (before the </body> tag) of one page template like FORUMHOME or something, otherwise ghosts are on every page and it could get kind of annoying. But that's up to you. |
