how to show a thumb of image in the content on thread listing?

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a mod that does the following:

1) during listing of the threads, display a thumbnail of the first img inside of the post eg. like in techbargains.com

2) vb4.14 rate this thread feature is in the pull down menu, is there a way to just display a simple block on the top right corner of the post and let user to rate the post? Pull-down is nice but most of the users find this not so intuitive.
