Losing passwords of users while converting from MyBB 1.4 to vB 4.0.8
Hi guys,
So, I have been using MyBB on my site from beginning. Now i am interested in vBulletin. So, i installed vB 4.0.8 and converted the MyBB board to vBulletin using the ImpEx Import system. But now, i found the problem that the members cant login with their password which they used in MyBB. Why is this happening? and is there a way to fix this? Note : The version of Impex Import system i used was 1.96 |

Yeah, if i convert from MyBB to vB 4, the users's passwords are not working and they have to request a password change.
But it would not be nice to be like that. Is there a way to convert it without losing passwords? |

Passwords are usually stored with non-reversible encryptation methods. If MyBB and VB use different encryptation methods, then you can not convert the passwords.
If the methods are the same, you can copy the old passwords... If the encrypation is reversible and you have the keys, then you can decode them and re-encrypt them for VB. I do not know which methods MyBB and VB use.... |

I don't think so to. There is no another way or fix. I have lost my user's passwords in phpbb to vbulletin.
