Move Nav Bar to Header
Okay, basically I want to use the default Nav Bar since the links it displays are based on if you are logged in or not and permissions and put it into the header so I can integrate it into a custom skin I am making. I am also using vbAdvanced.
I can provide an example of what I am looking to do just PM me for it please. I am basically trying to do the following: - Use a custom background image to customer the look of the links of the Nav Bar to be buttons. - Eliminate the entire NavBar & User Information Bar from the vbAdvanced Portal Page, but on the actual forums have just the User Information portion display. - Set a fixed width page on the vbAdvanced portal page, but have a dynamic width on the forums page. This way it will look like the menu is part of the site entirely and not just the forum software. I really just need to know what files in it's entirety that I am going to have to edit and just general steps on what code to cut and paste, the fine details I can figure out. Edit: Ok while I was tinkering around I found out that I found the answer to my question and discovered another potential future problem. I installed vbAdvanced in the same directory as my forum and then changed the vbAdvanced CMS index file to just index.php and then index.php to boardindex.php. I worked it all out to where both files are utilized seamlessly and no one is the wiser. Obviously this will probably create some issues in the future with add-ons, but I will work through this. This also resolves one issue for me in that I can set index.php to my set width and boardindex.php can be a dynamic width, so that problem is solved. I just need to know how to separate the menu bar from the bottom of the nav bar and move it into the header. Edit 2: Figured out separating the menu and the nav bar. Only issue I can't seem to figure out is how to set the CMS index page to fixed width only. --------------- Added [DATE]1303116379[/DATE] at [TIME]1303116379[/TIME] --------------- Nevermind. I got this all straightened out. |
