Hi, I need to remove the "post new thread" button under couple specific forums....so not all forums.
I can turn off the forum...but that will remove both the "post new thread" and also the "post reply" buttons all together..............I need "post reply" button to stay. I'm planning on creating threads of my own under these specific forums as Admin and disabling the option for all other users. these are the buttons, I want removed: http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...enewthread.png Please let me what's what! |

You dont need to "remove" the buttons. This can be done using the user forum permissions settings as far as i remember. Just go to Admin Control Panel, and edit the User Forum Permissions for a group(eg. in your case registered users) and set it to "Cant post or cant start new threads" on those specific forums. Should be very straight forward really.

That prevents them from posting, but it still shows them a 'New Thread' button, and if they click it they get the 'Permission Denied' message. Not very friendly.
