How would I get the default image directory from misc. I thought it was in stylevars in 3.x but it doesn't seem to be the same in 4.1.x.

This is for a plugin, not a template. Thanks!

It is a stylevar called imgdir_misc As a variable, you would call:
vB_Template_Runtime::fetchStyleVar('imgdir_misc')
