Forum Url

Anyone else have issues with the forum url setting? I've set it to http://www.mysite.com/forum and if any of my users use http://mysite.com/forum they can't log in at all - it just keeps looping them back to the main page. I need to be able to set this up so they can use either url - is this even possible??
