Quarantine
I recently got an email saying a mod I am using is in quarantine.
Can someone please tell me what that means and what the implications are? |

It just means the mod was removed from public downloading until the developer fixes an issue. If the issue is security related, then you would be told so. Otherwise, it could be any number of things like encoded files or hidden links or.... basically breaking a modification rule.

Thanks
The email says "If you are currently using this modification then you may wish to consider disabling it.", but there is no explanation of why I may wish to do this. I don't understand why there is no other information, it all seems a bit mysterious. |

if the author fix its problem, you will be contacted with newer information... if there is no fix provided, you will not have any more updates...
basically, informing you of the ins and outs of a bug report would give some hackers too much information that could help them break your site, so we avoid this... |
