Getting locked out of Admin Panel

Hi everyone,

I am getting a rather strange problem for the last few days. Every once in a while (after an hour or two), I keep getting locked out of Admin Panel which redirects me to homepage. I made several checks to see for any suspicious activity but I haven't found anything strange. My Admin/Mod Panels are custom named, "htaccessed", etc...

I haven't tweaked any settings (like cookie prefix, cookie domain path etc...) ever. Even after clearing cookies,cache and checking from a different computer I get the same issue. I always have to use the tools.php file to restore my access to Admin Panel and there are no other admins beside me.

What leads me to believe what the problem is that, I also installed OpenX ad server few days ago on a completely separate database with different user/pass than my forums and on a separate directory from forum with htaccess protection. At this time even some pages from OpenX were redirecting to homepage, so my initial instinct was that vB issue was caused by OpenX. Therefore I removed OpenX and deleted its database.

But the problem is still there sometimes.

I don't believe I am getting hacked, because in my server logs everything is normal.

I need to note that I am running on latest vB 3.6.x version. I realize that I need to upgrade, but can anyone please have some patience and possibly reply with your opinions about how would I get around this annoying issue.

Have you simply tried removing the htaccess in admincp to see if that helps?
