How can I show avatar for logged in user if he has one and if not a default avatar or noavatar.gif on the forum homepage

Do you mean the avatars in the widgets (Sidebar on the CMS) that you see on many forums? Or did you want to know if you can modify the code to show an Avatar for the person who posted a new article as you see on my site here: http://www.innovationbyinstinct.com/content/ where I have included the Avatar for the article owner etc. ?

I mean to ask how can we see an avatar of the user(my self) on the homepage(if he has one) and if he has none than a default avatar image can be shown and the same with a guest(a guest avatar can be shown)
