Is there anywhere to grab the submitted post text before it's censored?
I've been tracing this back and back and the first place a newly posted post text appears seems to be in $vbulletin->GPC['message'], I also tried $newpost['message'] - I found these looking at newreply.php and it seems like the hook I need is newreply_start or one of the other new_reply hooks, but everywhere I look it seems like I'm already seeing the censored version of the text.
Does the censor work before the post is even actually submitted? |

I think newreply_post_start works. (ETA: although you only get it uncensored once - if it's previewed it will change to *'s)
