Hi,
I have a vbulletin 3.6.8 board and since 3 days I am having problems with spammers. I think that boots are able to register users and write on my forum. Since 3 days they are writing ads messages and all that I can do is to delete the messages and to ban the user. How can I solve this problem. I am using capcha. The forum is on forum.studentville.it . Thank u! Peppe |

Could you update to the latest version to be sure there are no leaks in the software?

You could start off by installing vbstopforumspam:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...=stopforumspam That will check a user's ip address, email address and username against the database at stopforumspam.com. Then go through and find your users that you think are spammers.. delete the pms they sent then delete/ban the user. The vbstopforumspam mod should stop most of them from joining in the future. I usually have it set up to ignore the username but to check ip and email and it works out great for me and others i've installed it for. Rob |
